Recently, the people of the U.K. (United Kingdom) decided to leave the European Union (E.U.)
It was a very close result with 51.89% voting to leave.
This decision had a big impact on the world economy. Many big companies have lost value because nobody knows what will happen next.
This vote is actually just public opinion. The U.K. government can do nothing if it wants to and stay in the E.U.
The Japanese yen became stronger because many people feel now that the Yen (￥) is a safe currency (通貨).
